The sights and sounds of an emerging Canadian spring mesh so beautifully with the days following the Holy Week. He is risen! Now we live in the hope of eternal life because Christ rose again from the dead (1 Peter 1:3b). At the moment, hope is on display – calving and lambing are in full swing, birds are returning to their ponds, territories and perches, wildlife is emerging from hibernation, and the land itself is awakening to nurture all manner of new life.
This is one of the busiest seasons for our professionals and students – let’s not forget to pray for each other and check in where we can. I hope it’s also one of the most joyful and faith-affirming seasons – that we remain tender to the wonder of life all around us, and moved by the incomparable Gift we have been given in Jesus. All honor to God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; for it is his boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again so that we are now members of God’s own family. Now we live in the hope of eternal life because Christ rose again from the dead (1 Peter 1:3).
This month, our mission impact story features Dr. Taylor Huber, one of the lead vets for the Mexico spay/neuter clinics in February, with an informative account of the team’s ministry in Cuernavaca. You’ll want to take it in.
And – we need your help! The annual Maskwacis First Nations clinics are coming up May 2nd and 3rd near Edmonton, Alberta. Please contact us for information on volunteering, or use the donate button above – selecting the UCVM Students account – to help out through your financial support.

Missions Impact Story: Why we Serve

By Dr. Taylor Huber
Our Canadian team consisted of 2 DVMs, 3 third year DVM students, 2 second years, and an animal health technician. Various Mexican veterinarians, veterinary students, and general volunteers played instrumental roles in surgery, anesthesia, and communication with the community members attending the clinic with their animals. Our clinic was hosted in the most beautiful location that He could have provided for us.
