Our CVM theme for this year is Gratitude, based on Psalm 100. As we move through the harvest season with its bounty and colour, fall suppers, Thanksgiving gatherings and more, I hope that you and I will continually make the connection in our hearts to the Giver of all good things. The busyness of fall is undeniable, yet it’s so important that we make time to be grateful, giving our thanks and praise to the Lord. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him, bless his name! (Ps. 100:4). Some simple ways to help take up this posture could be: to keep a gratitude journal, to start each day by articulating three things you’re grateful to the Lord for, or to look for people to thank God for each day or each week for who they are. And to let them know it too!
Please keep an eye on our website for a full list of all events we’ll be attending through the winter, at cvmcanada.org/connect.
And finally, I encourage you to give a read through our feature story, by Ontario RVT Katrina Terpstra, who recently served on her first short-term mission with CVM to Honduras. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your experience, Katrina.

Canada Feature: Where He Leads, I Will Follow

By Katrina Terpstra, RVT
From July 27th to August 9th, a 12-person CVM team provided veterinary services across nine rural communities in Olancho, Honduras. Staying at Honduras Outreach Inc. (HOI), the team, which included veterinarians and vet students, performed 137 surgeries and dewormed 437 animals (dogs, cats, horses, and cattle), plus vaccinated over 200 cattle. When not in the field, volunteers spent time with local children. The mission followed a set daily routine of early workdays, followed by group devotions in the evenings. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the mission trip and felt it was a powerful experience of faith and service.
