Dear Friends,
It’s graduation season! Let me start by sending a huge shout-out to our newly-minted Doctors of Veterinary Medicine – the Class of 2025. You’ve done it, and we are so proud of you!! Thinking about our graduates in transition into practice, I’m reminded of God’s promise expressed in Joshua 1:9 – Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Grads, your CVM family is praying for you and is here for you. We hope that our professional community will continue to be a source of support & fellowship, and an avenue for service in the years ahead.
One of our new DVMs, Dr. Grace-Anne Szjoka, shares her perspective from the Maskwacis clinics in this month’s feature story (below). It’s an inspiring account you won’t want to miss.
And, finally, I’m pleased to announce that we have a location and dates for our rescheduled Real Life Real Impact Atlantic! It will be held October 24th and 25th at Canoe Cove Christian Camp, PEI. Watch for registration links and more information coming in July.
Serving together,
Lisa Balzer
CVM Canada Executive Director

Canada Feature: Where God Guides, He Provides

For the Christian Veterinary Fellowship (CVF) group at UCVM, the annual clinic in Maskwacis is a deeply meaningful tradition where veterinary students and professionals offer services like vaccinations and deworming to local animals. Beyond medical care, the team aims to share the love of Christ by building trust and connections within the community, often sharing Bibles and offering prayers. This year, the student organizer faced significant challenges, including a delayed vaccine order and personal health concerns, but ultimately witnessed God’s provision as supplies arrived just in time, reinforcing the team’s faith.
