We’re on the back half of summer now, with fall schedules and plans taking shape. I’m excited for all of the connections that will happen in the next months – from school visits, to vet conferences like CanWest, church missions weekends, and the CVM Veterinary Conference in Kentucky. I know a number of our Canadian professionals will be serving on short-term missions teams as well, and we look forward to hearing about your experiences!
This month’s impact story comes from veterinary student Chase Carey, who found the Christian Veterinary Fellowship group at his college in the US. His is a powerful account and familiar sentiment – similar to what I hear when connecting with our students in Canada.
As you read Chase’s story below, and as you think about our colleges coming back into session in August and early September, I ask you to pray. Pray especially for our 17 dedicated student leaders who will shepherd the fellowship groups at UCVM, WCVM, AVC, and OVC. And pray for each student who needs to discover Jesus’ calling in their life through the CVF community at their school.

Set on Fire: A Vet Student’s Journey of Faith and Mission

Chase Carey didn’t wonder for long how he could bring his faith into his education. In his first semester of veterinary school, the Lord introduced him to CVM. He now looks forward to the impact his combined faith and profession will make after he graduates next May!
