Short-Term

Short-term missions is one way to challenge yourself and experience God working through veterinary medicine.  As a veterinarian, veterinary technician or veterinary student you can serve. Your skills and love for Christ can have part in transforming communities and people around the world.  And with no doubt it will transform you as well.

If not sure yet when or where you should go, but want to plan ahead, we invite you to become part of our short-term missions pool.  This means that you will do some of the preliminary paperwork to serve with CVM and get regular updates of future trips that may not always be listed on the site.

We also welcome your spouses and family members, as there is always plenty of other work that can be done.

Long-Term

Have you felt God challenging your heart to serve long-term?  There are a lot of questions when beginning this journey so we seek to walk you through these with our experienced team and those already serving long-term. Start the conversation with us today or take a look at the current openings.

With our CVM USA partner we have over 40 years experience sending missionaries around the world.  Currently there are over 30 long-term missionaries serving worldwide. Contact us to learn more. Participating in our Short Course retreat is also an excellent way to learn about long-term missions!

To see a full list of missionaries serving long-term and how to support them go to the CVM USA website.

Indigenous

Since 2022, our UCVM Student Fellowship volunteers in Calgary have been running an annual weekend clinic for a First Nations community in central Alberta. It’s a two-day event where students and local Alberta veterinarians team up to provide small animal wellness care, equine dental services, and vaccinations.

The clinic typically sees more than 100 small animal patients and over 50 horses. Each one brings the chance to connect with animals and their owners, building on those relationships year over year.
