Dear friends,
We’re pressing into a busy month, with Real Life Real Impact Atlantic just over a week away. I’m thrilled to report a record of 50 people registered for our event in Nova Scotia, including students from three of our veterinary colleges! Our UCVM students, meanwhile, are set for their outreach clinic in Mexico, and we have a school visit at AVC following the Atlantic retreat. Please pray for each of these connection opportunities.
Can’t make it to Nova Scotia? No problem! You’re invited to join the Virtual Real Life Real Impact on Saturday, March 8th. It’s a four-hour zoom event including 2.5 hours of RACE-approved CE. We’d love to see you there.
Check the program schedule and register for Virtual Real Life Real Impact, March 8th!
As we continue in our CVM theme for the year, I pray that we each will strive to live out purposefully the Compassion which has been extended to us by our Lord. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). Let’s let His example of selfless love, empathy, grace, and action move us to love and care for others – for His glory.
Serving together,
Lisa Balzer

reflect on creating a long-term impact through short-term missions
Pine Ridge in South Dakota is one of the largest reservations in the US, and the second poorest in the country. The reservation has no veterinarian and animal control is minimal. Due to the tragic history between the Lakota Sioux and non-native people, mistrust of outsiders is strong. Despite all of this— or perhaps because of all this— CVM short-term teams have returned year after year with both veterinary care and the hope of the gospel.
